Our mission
The Amazing Heart Farm is working to develop an agriculturally based center for individuals who have been impacted by some sort of trauma or loss. By harnessing the therapeutic benefits of creative and physical work, we aim to provide a safe space for members of the local community to engage in emotional work and healing, to gain access to community resources and to learn to use personal and community supports while providing themselves, their families and the local community with locally grown, fresh food.
After graduating from Harvard Divinity School in June of 2009, Elizabeth Weller & Bill Mooney moved to a small farm located just outside of Gettysburg, PA. With the help of her husband, community volunteers & a Project Orange Thumb grant through FISKARS & the Intelligent Use of Water Award from Rain Bird, Elizabeth cultivates 1 acre of Certified Naturally Grown gardens for the Amazing Heart CSA. Over the next few years, she plans to expand production to 2 acres of fruit and vegetable production.
